Summer 2016

So I know summer officially begins the 30th of June but since there is no seasonal change in the tropics ( I live in Jamaica) my summer begins whenever my school year ends. This year I have an extended summer holiday because school ended May 10.

I have so much planned for my summer but a lot of times I get distracted. Here's a list of things I've been doing.

1. Discovering new tv shows or series

I start from season one watching episode after episode because they are so addictive, you just want to know what will happen next. I will not suggest the series I'm watching now because I although it is interesting there are many things that I don't like about it. However these ones are really good.

2. Exercising

I'm doing this to get my body toned and also because it's fun and I feel so good afterwards. I workout from home with no equipment with Fitness Blender at least 5 days each week. My core is my main focus but I ensure that I incorporate cardio and do some lower body workout too.

3. Learning a new language

I am in love with nature and I really enjoy traveling to discover new places. Having a second language would be very helpful with that so I'm teaching myself Spanish. I studied at the high school level but I wasn't very interested so I'm starting over now with Duolingo. It's a really great website and if you would like to learn a new language free where it is fun and interactive. This is a great site to visit and there's also the mobile app.

Summer Project

I also have another important thing to do, I want to write a book this summer. I love writing, that thrill I get from creating an interesting plot is calming.I don't want it to be an average book though so I'll have to improve my writing skills and take a page from other writer's book (no pun intended) by reading more. I'm very excited to star this summer project. Hopefully it will become a reality. I'll be sure to share my progress and maybe an extract from the book with you.

Have a great day.

Easy Road to Success/Happiness

Today I realized how the accomplishment of a simple goal can make you feel so wonderful. It doesn't have to be something major as long as it is something you have been wanting to do for a while and for some reason you just kept putting it off. When you finally muster the strength to go and cross that thing off your list you get a sense of relief and happiness. Well, that's what happened to me and I'm 90% sure it will happen to you too. Currently I'm attending University and I'm not working but I always love saving which I usually do out of my weekly allowance. But I find myself not being able to keep my savings for more than 3weeks then it's all gone. I knew that I want my saving to be long term so today I went to the bank and deposited a half of my allowance. It felt so good; and I thought, what if everyday I did something like this, crossing something off my to do list. Eventually, I'll be so in love with this feeling and want to keep accomplishing. Christianity and Social Networks

On social media, people generally tend to speak of Christianity in a negative light. I've seen persons, for example, a feminist on Twitter, attack Christianity for supporting unequal treatment of the sexes when that is not so. They use the Bible to try and prove their points when the truth is most of these persons when they read the Bible only pick out a few verses and call it a day. They do not study the word of God or go to Bible studies so they can understand God's word the way he intend it to be, neither do they pray for God's assistance in interpreting his word. And why should they? They are not Christians. These people want to disregard and ridicule the word of God and Christianity in general. They use the word of God as a means to an end, which is strengthening their points and invalidating Christianity. We live in a world where people find it easy to glorify sin. Everyone's talking about the music or books that encourages us to make money so we can 'stunt ...

13 Reasons Why You Should Stay Alive

I didn't want to watch '13 Reason Why' until my exams were finished, this was hard to do because everyone on social media was talking about it so I grew more and more curious. One day I was on hall with some friends and one of them asked if we had heard about the show, I was the only one who knew about it. The other two girls started asking questions wanting to know what it's about and before you know it we all grouped together watching episode 9 from her iPhone7.It was so interesting we couldn't stop watching, well I had to leave after episode 11 because I had an interview in a couple of hours, so I needed the sleep. My friends kept watching til episode 13 where the season ended. Needless to say, I was hooked since that night. I needed to know all the reasons why Hannah killed herself and in two days I finished the series. For those of you just hearing about the show I'm going to give you a brief overview of what it's about (without any spoilers, I pro...
