Keeping Dry Hair Moisturized

I have really dry natural hair and it is a struggle to keep it moisturize. Sadly, that's not the only thing I have to worry about; sometimes my hair break off when styling it. It can get really depressing. So if you're facing the same problems I might have a solution for you. This method has help my hair stay moisturize for longer, thus reducing breaking and my hair has gained a couple inches!
Here are steps you can follow to see these results too.

1) Moisturize DAILY

There's no going around it. If you have dry hair you must moisturize every day. This can be just spraying your hair with water. However if your hair needs some more attention for it to stay moisturize, the LOC method is perfect. The LOC method requires that you add Liquid, Oil and Cream to your hair in that order. The liquid may be water or a water based product, the oil can be whatever you chose but I prefer castor oil as it is thick and does a great job of locking the moisture in. The cream will be a styling a product that makes your hairstyle last longer and gives added moisture.

2) Wear Protective Styles

When you're hair is tucked away there is little or no stress on it. You will be retaining a lot of length because you're hair won't break underneath a wig or braids. What is important is that your hair is very moisturize (deep condition then do the LOC method) before installing your protective style. It also key that on the day that you take down your protective style you moisturize by deep conditioning and applying a hot oil treatment. This is one of the best ways to combat dry hair!

3) Try Different Hair Products

It can be that the product that you are using is not working for your hair. Don't be afraid afraid to try something new. Not because your favourite product use to make your hair moisturized and soft means it will always work that way. As you get older and manipulate your hair in different ways it will respond differently to certain products. A product that didn't work for your hair once may very well work now.

4) Deep Condition Weekly

Deep conditioning is a major key to moisturizing dry hair. Most of the hair's moisture is stripped during washing and conditioning is not enough for us ladies with dry hair. Deep conditioning with heat (whether direct-sitting under a dryer or indirect- using a plastic cap) allows the moisture to penetrate your hair shaft. This keeps your hair moisturized for longer and prevents breakage.

If you try at least two of these tips you are sure to see a difference in your hair.

Self Image and Depression

Recently, I bought some makeup products with the intention of appearing as flawless as the girls I see on YouTube. I was so excited because I have never been an avid makeup user; I may add some pressed powder for medium coverage of my acne scars, some mascara and lip balm then I'd be ready to go. But this time I wanted to go full on with the concealer, foundation, highlight, eyebrow pencil, lipsticks, the whole works. I ended up spending a week's money in a day but it could only afford cheap drugstore products. No surprise, upon reaching home and trying these products I was not satisfied. I felt so disappointed when I realized that to achieve the look I was going for the foundation would cost me US$48. I was so sad because I do not have that type of money for just one thing on my list. Besides, that was what I spent on all the cheap products I bought, realizing that made me feel worse. Also, about two weeks ago I damaged my hair from flat ironing everyday for an entire we...

Christianity and Social Networks

On social media, people generally tend to speak of Christianity in a negative light. I've seen persons, for example, a feminist on Twitter, attack Christianity for supporting unequal treatment of the sexes when that is not so. They use the Bible to try and prove their points when the truth is most of these persons when they read the Bible only pick out a few verses and call it a day. They do not study the word of God or go to Bible studies so they can understand God's word the way he intend it to be, neither do they pray for God's assistance in interpreting his word. And why should they? They are not Christians. These people want to disregard and ridicule the word of God and Christianity in general. They use the word of God as a means to an end, which is strengthening their points and invalidating Christianity. We live in a world where people find it easy to glorify sin. Everyone's talking about the music or books that encourages us to make money so we can 'stunt ...
