Steping Into 2018

A lot of persons have already started thinking about what they want to accomplish in 2018 or how to make it a better year than 2017. I have realized that what causes many of these goals to fail is because we wait until the start of the new year; but what about starting now? The earlier you start the better able you will be to accomplish your goals. You are not going to be motivated to work towards something just because it is the first day of the new year, it will be just another day. This is why I disagree with having new year resolutions because it is not any different from the other goals you have set in the middle of the year or towards the end of the year. It is just another reason to procrastinate and say "well, next year I will do this" or " the new year will be a fresh start". Why should you start today?   Starting today will allow for you to develop a habit of working towards your goal. If you step into 2018 with the same old habits of 2017 it wi...

Summer 2016

So I know summer officially begins the 30th of June but since there is no seasonal change in the tropics ( I live in Jamaica) my summer begins whenever my school year ends. This year I have an extended summer holiday because school ended May 10. I have so much planned for my summer but a lot of times I get distracted. Here's a list of things I've been doing. 1. Discovering new tv shows or series  I start from season one watching episode after episode because they are so addictive, you just want to know what will happen next. I will not suggest the series I'm watching now because I although it is interesting there are many things that I don't like about it. However these ones are really good. 2. Exercising I'm doing this to get my body toned and also because it's fun and I feel so good afterwards. I workout from home with no equipment with Fitness Blender at least 5 days each week. My core is my main focus but I ensure that I incorporate cardio...

Easy Road to Success/Happiness

Today I realized how the accomplishment of a simple goal can make you feel so wonderful. It doesn't have to be something major as long as it is something you have been wanting to do for a while and for some reason you just kept putting it off. When you finally muster the strength to go and cross that thing off your list you get a sense of relief and happiness. Well, that's what happened to me and I'm 90% sure it will happen to you too. Currently I'm attending University and I'm not working but I always love saving which I usually do out of my weekly allowance. But I find myself not being able to keep my savings for more than 3weeks then it's all gone. I knew that I want my saving to be long term so today I went to the bank and deposited a half of my allowance. It felt so good; and I thought, what if everyday I did something like this, crossing something off my to do list. Eventually, I'll be so in love with this feeling and want to keep accomplishing. S...

End of Semester: Reflection and Goals

It's the end of the first semester and well it has been a rough three months mostly due to my procrastination for exams. As for making friends, that didn't work out, instead I learned to enjoy my own company and reconnected with a friend from high school. However, I have made a list of goals for next semester aimed at improving my grades and the whole university experience in general. This is an outline of my goals for next semester:  First and fore most my grades need to improve. My GPA is not bad but I don't want to be average or just about average, I want to make the honor roll next semester and that will require a lot of studying well in advance of finals. My university provide us with a gym and a pool we can use free which sadly, I have never been to. When school begins January I will go to the gym regularly and get in shape. The pool has life guards there who offer swimming lessons, hopefully 2016 will be the year I learn how to swim; so many people have tried ...
